Should affirmative action programs be extended to people from Appalachia who are equally qualified for jobs and educational opportunities as other applicants regardless of race and/or sex? What are your thoughts?
I don't think so, no. I mean, we're are now, or only ever have been, looked down on from the North. We can go to Southern cities and get jobs just as high paying.
Yes...I think so because people don't choose to live like that..and the children who are being raised up in drugs..and drinking nothing but mt.dew someone needs to help..because its just so sad to watch and see people fail..and you wonder if that was you..how could you do it.
Yes, I do think that the affirmative action programs should be extended to the people of Appalachia. Those people deserve the same opportunities as us. We established these programs to give different races and other minorities the same as everyone else....the Appalachians are one of those minorities.
